March has arrived, and with it comes one of the most beautiful seasons in the Lowcountry. As spring begins to take hold, Charleston comes alive with outdoor events, festivals, and plenty of reasons to enjoy the warmer days ahead.

The season unofficially kicks off with the iconic Cooper River Bridge Run, one of the most anticipated events of the year that brings runners and spectators from across the country together. Just a short drive away in Summerville, the beloved Flowertown Festival returns, filling the streets with colorful blooms, local artisans, and a true celebration of spring in the Lowcountry.

History and culture also take center stage during The Charleston Festival, held at locations throughout Charleston from March 18 through April 11. For theater lovers, the historic Dock Street Theatre is currently staging the lively musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee through March 15.

Sports fans can also catch the excitement on the ice as the South Carolina Stingrays return home for several games throughout the month.

From festivals and performances to community traditions, March offers countless ways to welcome spring in Charleston.
